Behind the Badge: A Female & Minority Perspective

This panel discussion will offer participants an opportunity to learn more about the firsthand experiences of law enforcement officers. Sharing their perspectives on the rewards and challenges of being a public servant will be Officer Leslie Malerich of the Griffith PD, Lt. Jessie Watts Jr. of the NICTD, Chief Wayne James of the IU Northwest PD, and retired Capt. George Gonzalez of the Porter County Sheriff's Office. Additionally, representatives from local law enforcement agencies will be available in the Savannah Center lobby before and after the event to answer questions and discuss the potential employment opportunities in their departments.
