Engaging with the U.S. Constitution: Why is it Important to Me?
IU Northwest's Center for Urban and Regional Excellence (CURE) invites the campus and community to engage in active discussion, body art, photo ops, and reflection related to the U.S. Constitution.
You are welcome to stay for a minute, hour, or the entire day, and engage with the U.S. Constitution through:
Body Art: Paint a meaningful phrase or word from the Constitution on your arm, hand, or face and/or have this done by skilled artist.
Photo Zone: Take a photo in front of a professional backdrop to capture your body art, writing, drawing, or other artistic expression that displays how you engage with the Constitution.
Reflective Writing: Write and/or draw using copies of the Constitution as inspiration. We will supply paper, pens, and markers but feel free to bring your own too.
Active Discussion: Participate in stimulating discussions about issues related to Articles of the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution affects all of us in many different ways. Come discover how you can actively participate in commemorating the U.S. Constitution.
This event is part of a week-long series of events held in collaboration with Office of Diversity, Equity and Multi-cultural Affairs, Women and Gender Studies, Minority Studies, and Student Government.
