**CANCELLED**: Teaching Contested Narratives

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr. Bekerman's visit to IUPUI has been cancelled

Join Dr. Zvi Bekerman, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, for his lecture entitled "Teaching Contested Narratives."

Ten years of ethnographic research at bilingual and bicultural integrated Palestinian- Jewish schools in Israel sheds light on how both learning and reconciliation occur in the midst of enduring conflict. This important presentation by distinguished scholar Dr. Zvi Bekerman describes a new focus for peace-oriented education—preparing students to become artists of design, helping them to construct new ways of living together—while exploring and deconstructing the very real barriers that exist between them.

This event is sponsored by the IUPUI Office of Intercultural Literacy, Capacity and Engagement, IUPUI School of Education, IUPUI Office of International Affairs, and the IUPUI Jewish Faculty and Staff Council.
