Student Accelerator Crash Course: Excel (COURSE IS FULL)
Think you don’t need to know that much about Excel to get a job? Think again. Eighty percent of current job openings require spreadsheet and word processing skills (Burning Glass Technologies, 2016). No matter what job you hope to get after you graduate, you need to know Microsoft Excel.
CEWiT is pleased to partner with UITS IT Training to offer an Accelerator Crash Course on Excel. Instructors Jason Fickel and April Law will cover:
- Introduction of key terms and features in Excel
- Entering formulas and functions
- Adjusting columns and formatting
- Creating tables
- Inserting and working with rows
- Sorting data
- Formatting cells
- Introduction to charting
- Working with key chart types
- Working with PivotTables
- Understanding VLOOKUP
- Using macros
NOTE: We are no longer accepting applications for this course, as we have exceeded the number of available seats.
Accelerator Crash Courses are designed to provide a space for IU women to acquire foundational knowledge of a technology-related topic. These highly collaborative and interactive workshops are intended to encourage further in-depth and independent learning of the subject matter.
The workshops typically occur on a Saturday and/or Sunday, and last 6+ hours. Lunch is provided at each session. Because of the popularity of the Crash Courses, and the limited seating, attendees must apply for each workshop. Our Accelerator Crash Courses are open to any IUB student, but preference is given to CEWiT affiliates.
