"This is cool, but what can 3D printing do for me?" Brown Bag Workshop
Faculty - are you eager to try 3D printing and laser-cutting but are not sure where to start? Looking for interactive, hands-on activities for your classroom?
If yes, then join us at this brown bag workshop where we will explore 3D modeling as a platform for scientific and humanities-based research. We’ll use a paper-based activity to discuss the Wardian case (a nineteenth-century terrarium), the science behind its architecture, and its place within Victorian material culture. In doing so, we’ll develop the skills needed to translate physical objects into a digital environment and to bring these digital models back into the physical world through 3D printing and laser cutting.
No prior 3D modeling experience needed! Feel free to bring your lunch.
