Case 13.353 in Inter-American Commission of Human Rights re: Prison Conditions in Presídio Central, Porto Alegre, Brazil - The Association of Judges in Rio Grande do Sul (AJURIS) filed a case against the Brazilian government for human rights violations committed in one of the worst prisons in the country. Judge Pereira will explain why AJURIS filed the case and its developments in the Commission.

Defense of Rights within the Court System and/or Using its Alternative Institutions in Ukraine – Legal analysis of Ukrainian law related to the right to apply for defense of rights within the court system and/or using its alternative institutions in criminal and civil cases. Positive and negative aspects of the practice in the view of the people and businesses with some comparative examples from US legal practice.



Vitalii Buz – licensed attorney from Ukraine; LL.M. International Human Rights Law Candidate. Buz received a Specialist in Law diploma from the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a specialization in Jurisprudence and received a Master in Law Diploma (Jurisprudence) from Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs. He also received a Specialist in Finance diploma from Ukrainian State University of Finance and International Trade. After completing his LL.M. studies, he plans to take the bar exam in New York and hopes to work for an international organization.
