Luca Barra Lecture

From “Sceneggiato” to HBO: Main Trends, Production Models and Distribution Patterns of Italian Contemporary TV Fiction     View flyer     Luca Barra (MA in Mass Media & Communication, Uni-versity of Turin and PhD, Catholic Uuiversity of Milan) is an assistant professor in the department of the arts at the University of Bologna. He studies media, with a particular focus on TV production and distribution. He has also worked on the history of television in Italy, Eu-rope and the USA; humor; comedies; and the evolution of media. He is the author of two books: Palinsesto. Storia e tecnica della programmazione televisiva (Roma-Bari: Laterza, 2015) and Risate in scatola. Storia, medi-azioni e percorsi distributivi della situation comedy americana in Italia (Milano: Vita e Pensiero, 2012 ). He has co-edited Taboo Comedy. Television and Controver-sial Humour (London: Palgrave, 2016); Backstage. Studi sulla produzione dei media in Italia (Milan: Unicopli, 2016) as well as Tutta un’altra fiction. La serialità pay in Italia e nel mondo. Il modello Sky (Milan: Carocci, 2013).
