ARCgis Accelerated Crash Course for Faculty
Faculty are invited to join us for this special workshop presented by the Feminist Research Collective (Suparna Bose, Pengfei Zhao, Dajanae Palmer, Samantha Silberstein, Pooja Saxena, Lucinda Carspecken, & Barbara Dennis).
In this workshop, the Feminist Research Collective will share its project “Women We love.” This project involves gathering the life stories of women we love and transforming them into digital landscapes using ARCgis. In the workshop we will show how the use of technology fosters our feminist research practices. In an effort to create a global space for the adoration of women through the eyes of someone who loves them, we challenge the typical boundaries of “research” as aloof, dispassionate, bounded engagement.
Participants are invited to bring laptops and come prepared to play around with ARCgis software, available for free through IU. In order to really experiment with the software, participants may want to have digital access to photos and stories.
Lunch is provided, so please RSVP here: http://go.iu.edu/2ahG.
